The Vinho Verde Demarcated Region, one of the largest in Portugal and Europe, stretches across the northwest of the country, between the Minho River and the Douro, and is marked by a vast amphitheater that gradually rises inland. The proximity to the Atlantic and the diversity of the granite soils contribute to the production of wines of remarkable freshness and lightness, as well as sparkling wines of superior quality.
